Meet Our People 2

We continue with the personal conversations with the people from the agency team - because we believe that everything starts with them.

Let's break the ice with the traditional question: What are the three key qualities a successful real estate broker should possess?
Yani: I wouldn't give a definition, but rather what helps me. Of course, technical knowledge, site and market awareness are important. But since you're dealing with people, there are qualities that fall into the realm of interpersonal communication, and I think they're crucial. Qualities on which trust is built. First of all, the attitude that I solve, not create a problem. Second, I am acting authentically, fake and phrasing is a very bad sign. And especially important: communication, the ability to communicate with all kinds of people, at any level - from a cleaner to a minister.
Galina: Empathy, expertise, proactivity.

What did you do before becoming a real estate broker? Did you learn anything from your previous job that you still apply today?
Yani: Historian - research and teaching activity. I don't know if I apply anything from this experience - maybe the ability to listen and explain.
Galina: Sales manager at one of the largest publishing houses in Bulgaria, a serious cosmetic brand and the great initiative "Bulgaria Wants You". I learned that it is imperative to keep learning - to develop every day, to stand up for your principles and the things you believe in, to be and remain a good person. As well as the fact that you cannot win at the expense of others - the team is always stronger.

How would you explain what you do to a 5 year old?
Yani: It's very simple, but it's not quantum physics. I sell homes, like in a store.
In our country, it seems much more complicated to explain to an elderly person exactly what a broker does and why there is a need for his activity at all. After all, we once had the same problem with the bar in our country. People generally don't trust middlemen - whether it's trading or anything else. Everyone manages on their own, because everyone understands everything - or if they don't, they have a relative, friend, acquaintance who does and doesn't take (much) money. This applies to all public spheres. That is why the level of services in our country is low everywhere.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Galina: What free time?! Just kidding - I'm extremely passionate about biohacking and I follow and educate myself a lot in this direction - how to stay healthy, active and happy until our last breath at about 150-200 years and more. No, it's not fantasy, it's science. Search for information about David Sinclair and what he has achieved.

What do you love in Sofia?
Galina: I already love the spirit of change that is finally felt. The great potential of Sofia will develop.

And what do you not like in Sofia?
Yani: Broken streets, architectural and all kinds of other ugliness. People with stone faces. People who don't back down, don't say hello, don't apologize, don't say thank you...
